Writing a work order that converts

The field-services board connects your posted work with technicians who can do it. A clear, well-scoped work order is the difference between the right tech claiming it and your post sitting untouched.

How it works

You post a work order; technicians on the board claim it; the platform handles matching and payment. You fund the order before work begins, the money is held safely, and the technician is paid once you approve the completed work.

Four ways to attract the right technician

Lead with a concrete title

A technician scanning the board decides in seconds. “On-site server consolidation, downtown” beats “IT help needed”. Name the work and the place.

Scope the job, don’t just describe it

Spell out what’s involved, the devices in play, and what “done” looks like. The clearer the scope, the better the techs who claim it — and the fewer surprises for both sides.

Set a fair, specific rate

Choose the rate type and amount up front. A realistic number attracts qualified techs; a vague or low one gets skipped. You’ll see the full fee breakdown before you authorise payment.

List your real requirements

Required skills, licences, and certifications are checked the moment a technician accepts — not as a loose filter. Listing them honestly means the tech who shows up is actually qualified.

How payment works

  • Funded up front. You pay for the work before it starts, and the funds are held — the technician knows the job is real, and you know the money only moves on your say-so.
  • Released on your approval. When the work is done, you approve it and the technician is paid.
  • Auto-approval safety net. If you don’t review within five days, the work auto-approves and funds release — so a forgotten approval never leaves a technician unpaid.
