Why it matters
Stateful payment objects prevent the UI from treating every payment attempt as a simple one-step charge.
Technical detail
A PaymentIntent coordinates amount, currency, payment method, authentication, confirmation, capture, and failure state for one payment lifecycle.
Examples
- A checkout confirms the same payment intent after the customer completes 3-D Secure.
