Full listings are verification-gated, and shops still in review are clearly marked. Search ranking is never for sale. Featured placements are always clearly labeled.

Warranty and response-time numbers come from each shop's disclosed terms and measured time-to-quote — not self-reported marketing.

How certifications work

We surface three independent signals so you can pick a shop with confidence:

  1. Skill certifications (Level 2 / Level 3). A RepairYour.Tech certification is a skill level — Level 1, 2, or 3 — in a specific device category (smartphones, laptops, gaming consoles, and so on). Levels are awarded by our staff after reviewing a technician's evidence; they are individual to the technician and 100% platform-controlled, never self-declared. Every shop can take on Level 1 work in any category by default, so only Level 2 and Level 3 earn a badge. A shop advertises a level in a category when a certified technician at that level works there and the shop has attested the equipment for it.
  2. Response-time proof. Median and 90th-percentile time-to-quote across rolling 7/30/90-day windows. Not self-reported.
  3. Warranty terms + parts source. Disclosed up front — parts/labor warranty days and whether the shop uses OEM, aftermarket, recycled, or mixed components.

Higher-level certified shops are prioritized in search and are the only shops eligible for category spotlights — but any shop can still appear and take Level 1 work. Search ranking is never for sale. Featured placements are always clearly labeled.
