It records the work, not the owner
A Passport is a running record of what was done to a device — the repair, the part, the diagnostic, the date. It is tied to the device’s hardware identity (its IMEI or serial number), never to who owns it.
A Device Passport is the verified history of a device — what was repaired, with which parts, and when. It is built as the work happens, sealed so it can’t be quietly changed, and it carries no personal information.
When you buy a used device or pick one up after a repair, you usually have to take someone’s word for what happened to it. The Passport removes the guesswork: the history is recorded plainly, kept with the device, and easy to check — so the next person never has to wonder.

When a shop completes a repair on the platform, the entry is written for you — the repair type, the parts used, the date, and the technician’s certification level at that moment. No extra data entry, no chance to forget.
Every entry is sealed with a cryptographic fingerprint and chained to the one before it. Entries are added, never edited or deleted — a correction is recorded as a new note, and the original stays in place. If a link in the chain were altered, it would show.
When a device changes hands, its Passport stays with it. The next owner sees the full history; the previous owner’s personal details do not carry over. The record is the device’s, not any one person’s.
