A phishing-resistant sign-in credential that uses public-key cryptography.
Why it matters
Passkeys can remove shared passwords and bind authentication to the legitimate site.
Technical detail
A passkey is a discoverable FIDO credential whose private key remains with the user’s authenticator while the service stores a public key.
