Digital Fair Repair Act

Summary

Requires manufacturers of consumer electronics sold in Minnesota on or after July 1, 2021 to make parts, tools, and repair documentation available to device owners and independent repair shops on fair and reasonable terms. Codified at Minn. Stat. § 325E.72; enforced by the Attorney General as an unlawful trade practice. Excludes motor vehicles, medical devices, farm/off-road equipment, and video game consoles.
