Score breakdown

Parts Availability 85
Schematic Access 65
Repairability 80
OEM Pricing 75
Software Freedom 80

Why this grade

Strongest broad-parts position of the US mass brands: free owner manuals online, very deep OEM + aftermarket parts supply (RepairClinic, parts retailers), simple engineering with few failure points, and it is the brand most often named as repair-pro-friendly. Full service manuals (vs owner manuals) are not always freely public and warranty work is restricted to authorized techs, which caps the schematic score. Low software lockout on mainstream lines. No authoritative per-brand repairability score exists, so grade reflects convergent trade evidence.

Methodology & version

Five dimensions — parts availability, schematic access, repairability, OEM pricing, and software freedom — are scored 0–100 and weighted equally; the letter grade is the average (A 90–100, B 80–89, C 70–79, D 60–69, F below 60). This assessment is current as of 6/9/2026 and cites its sources below. It covers the Large appliances category and is not a claim about every device the maker ships.
