ResMed gates internal repair: proprietary ResMed service/calibration software is required to test and recalibrate AirSense 10/11 and S9 devices after most internal part swaps, and that software, factory tools, and internal parts are made available only to authorized service centers, not to owners or general independents. The clinician/service menu is locked, and ResMed does not sell internal board-level parts to consumers. Offsetting positives keep it above the medical-imaging OEMs: external consumables (masks, filters, tubing, water chambers) are widely sold; iFixit hosts free ResMed repair guides; and ResMed has authorized at least one independent factory-authorized warranty center (Repair Authority) for HME dealers, so a limited sanctioned independent channel exists. Net: still F, but the least restrictive of the four on consumer-level parts.
