Parts availability is sharply split: commercial Keurig machines are serviceable (reservoirs, needles, water filters commonly $5-25), but the consumer/home line is widely reported as effectively non-repairable because internal parts (pumps, heating elements, boards) are not sold, only drip tray / K-cup holder / water tank. iFixit hosts community guides for several models (2.0-400, K-Duo, K40), but the housings are clipped/sealed and home units are treated as disposable. Most damaging for software-lock: Keurig 2.0 (2014) shipped firmware DRM using IR-ink pod authentication to lock out third-party pods, drawing major backlash before the company reversed course.
