Score breakdown
Why this grade
Hisense runs an official US support site with parts lookup by model, and genuine OEM parts plus modular boards (main, power, T-CON, LED driver) are available via Parts Town, ShopJimmy and TV Parts Today with revision-level filtering. Service manuals/schematics are available on free repositories and Hisense has published at least some official repair guides (e.g., regional A9G PDF). No parts pairing on TVs, and budget-brand boards are cheap. Documentation is not centralized/officially comprehensive, and panels remain uneconomical, so it lands at D.
Methodology & version
Five dimensions — parts availability, schematic access, repairability, OEM pricing, and software freedom — are scored 0–100 and weighted equally; the letter grade is the average (A 90–100, B 80–89, C 70–79, D 60–69, F below 60). This assessment is current as of 6/9/2026 and cites its sources below. It covers the TVs category and is not a claim about every device the maker ships.
